SOAP: Soap is the most effective way to get rid of the CORONA VIRUS. As we know our cell membraneis composed of Protein-Lipid bilayer. Coronavirus has a spherical shaped
structure whose outer membrane means envelope (outermost layer which present over the capsid) is made up of GLYCOPROTEINS and genetic material RNA is covered by this.
Soap (sodium stearate) molecule after electrolysis form two ion- one is positive means hydrophobic and another is negative means hydrophilic. If the concentration of soap molecule in water is high they form a colloid like structure known as MICELLE. In micelle, the tail that is nonpolar part lies towards the centre and the polar part lies towards the surface. The hydrophilic means the anionic part is soluble in water and the hydrophobic part means a cationic part is soluble in oil, fat, lipid or protein.
As we know the outer part of coronavirus is a glycoprotein so the hydrophobic part comes in contact with glycoprotein and then they enters into it and the polar part lies outside it ,in water. By this way, they form an ionic surface around the protein portion. At this time due to the repulsive force of the same cationic charge, the protein molecules get the tendency to move away from each other since protein molecule ruptured.
The tail also breaks the bond between the RNA and lipid envelope thus dissolving the virus into water. Protein portion is no longer in the wall of a virus, now they are in the water and form an emulsion. By washing they removed from our hand with water.
Another reason to use soap is washing our hand with soap have the drying capacity
because it removes some natural fat from our skin and helps us to dry our skin for a longer time, which definitely hamper the tendency of coronavirus to stuck in our skin surface.
We have to rinsing our hand properly. Soap is slippery in nature that helps us to use it
properly throughout all portion of the hand.
HAND SANITIZER: Hand sanitizer is made up of ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol or both which kill the viruses. At least 60% of alcohol should be used in sanitizer because less than that concentration alcohol are unable to kill the microorganisms .90% is preferable.
Alcohol has a bactericidal effect and used as a topical disinfectant. Sanitizer can reduce the
growth of microorganisms but it cannot remove all microorganisms present in your hand.
It dissolves the lipid envelope. Alcohol has the ability to denature the protein structure which is present on the envelope by which virus stuck to the various cells in the human body.
If our hand is too dirty and greasy then sanitizer cannot penetrate completely, compared to
soap.
Even many peoples are using their hand before sanitizer gets fully dry in our hand.
Due to the presence of glycerol, it has a moisturizing effect but not as much slippery than soap, that's why alcohol doesn't come in contact with all parts of the Hand.
So, use soap to wash your hand. When you don't have soap then only use hand
sanitizer…
