From a stuntman to a director, Sam Hargrave definitely have a lot to offer,
Debut well made, but it's like scoring two on your debut match and then
you missed a penalty,
Okay, so here is the drill, Tyler-Rake (Hemsworth) who was a black-market mercenary
And have nothing to lose but love to do meditation underwater got hired (voluntary)
For the mission to rescue Ovi Mahajan who happened to be the only son of the biggest drug
Lord of India (whose name was also Ovi Mahajan) got kidnapped by the biggest drug lord of Bangladesh (Mythical stuff, Just like Hemsworth said).
Now there comes Saju (Randeep Hooda) maybe the bodyguard of ovi Mahajan not clear at all !!.. but he actually hired Tyler for this job because otherwise Ovi Mahajanr (Pankaj Tripathi) was deemed to kill his (saju) family.
Now after this, the entire story became worthless. Let me get this straight
In this entire movie, I didn't found any motive, it was screaming for a back story, there were only body counts and some cool action sequence and car chase and nothing else.
It's like "Get out on the roads of Dhaka and start killing some bad people". Also, they have made a small Pakistan out of Bangladesh. But wait! there was some good stuff too...
Firstly The cinematography and direction, man I like it, that 12-15 mins long fight sequence involving Hemsworth, Randeep Hooda and Dhaka police was the best part of the entire movie.
Those scenes were very synchronized (no, still you can't compare it to 'john wick' or the '300') specially, I liked that fighting scene between Chris and Hooda, and those color grades...
Second, The screenplay and acting, They have chosen the right kind of actors in the right places like Lock and key, and to be honest they haven't really disappointed.
Third, When Chris spoke Bengali, That was cute and the final shot; it was something I'm still curious about.
VFX could've been better but given the budget, think it's One time watchable and if you're a Hemsworth fan then you gonna like it a lot I think all these complexities in the story, can be solved if they just set it up for a sequel in that way it could be something like ' Jason Bourne', maybe.
My rating ---> 6.8/10
