A Letter To MCU

To
Marvel Cinematic Universe,

The recent pandemic COVID-19 has hit us badly. We are fighting a war-like situation created by a unicellular life form. It's been a long month since I went outside my house. Realizing the seriousness of the situation I started thinking what if Iron Man was real? What about the avengers? They could have saved us!

Well, You may say I'm daydreaming but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join me. And the world will live as one.

It was almost a decade back when I was introduced to your world. I saw some guy who'd made an armour suit to save himself from being held hostage. And then I found myself at the movies that very weekend, sitting through a story that I didn't know was going to change the way I look at the world and its people. And so it did, from the moment I heard the guy confess: “I am Iron Man.”

From spending days on end discussing plot twists & character graphs, to keeping a track of what's next on the board, I have done it all. I have set alarms just to make sure that I'm awake when a new movie teaser comes around. And none of this is to say or prove how big a fan I am of your world but to tell you about the kind of impact you've had on the lives of kids like me, over the years.

MCU, you've built an entire universe of power and magic inside me that I am going to trade for no other. I have not just marvelled at your cinema but lived it more fully than I have lived my own life.

I have already watched Endgame more than 25 times, and even though my mouth's too dry from feeling & crying too much, I want to thank you for making my childhood such a joyous ride. I urge all the fans to believe in the power of goodness infinitely. Your favourite Avenger might be dead or living, but promise me that their spirit will continue to live in you, regardless of whatever it takes.

I love you 3000, now and always.

Stay Home, Stay Safe.

Yours truly,
S.
